Welcome from Tony Burton CBE, Chair
Thank you for your interest in becoming our new Chief Executive. This is an incredible opportunity for someone who wants to play a pivotal role in shaping civil society across the UK and in this pack you’ll find further information about the role and The National Lottery Community Fund.
We are the largest funder of community activity in the UK and thanks to National Lottery players, last year we funded over 14,000 projects.
The National Lottery recently celebrated its 25th year, which provided a great opportunity to look back and reflect on what has been a remarkable 25 years of making a difference to communities. As a funder, we are growing and evolving, ensuring everything we do supports people to be in the lead and communities to thrive. We are continually talking to the people and communities we fund about their ideas and ways in which we can support them to drive change and shape their futures.
The coronavirus crisis has seen unprecedented need and demand for our support, and our funding has enabled vital work to continue throughout the pandemic. Community projects have adapted and transformed overnight, changing their ways of working to ensure people across the UK receive the support they need. The people and communities we work with are resoundingly resilient and never fail to motivate and inspire.
We are looking for a Chief Executive who can harness this passion and creativity, learn from the communities we work with and the wider sector, identify new ways of working and provide great leadership to a team of committed colleagues and Board members. As a trusted and valued funder, we must reflect the diversity of the communities we fund in all our work and have people at the heart of everything we do.
If you are interested in this role and making a tangible and demonstrable difference to the lives of people and communities throughout the UK, please get in touch. We look forward to hearing from you.
